Does AdBlue deactivation affect CSDD technical inspection?

During CSDD technical inspection, diesel vehicles are tested for particulate matter numbers (PN test with an optical particle counter). The CSDD legal limit is up to 1,000,000 particles/cm³, while a healthy DPF produces only 10,000 – 15,000 particles/cm³. AdBlue (SCR) deactivation does not affect DPF functionality — the particulate filter remains fully active and the car passes inspection with a clean score of «0».

What does AdBlue (SCR) do?

The SCR system neutralizes nitrogen oxides (NOx). CSDD technical inspection stations in Latvia do not measure exhaust NOx concentration.

CSDD requirements:

The key requirements are: no Check Engine warning lamp on the dashboard and an operative DPF filter. Following software deactivation, there are zero DTC errors and inspection is passed normally.

Will my car pass CSDD technical inspection after AdBlue deactivation?

Yes, completely without issues. CSDD testing stations measure particulate matter numbers (limit is up to 1,000,000 part./cm³, clean DPF produces 10,000–15,000 part./cm³) and check for warning lights. Nitrogen oxides (NOx) are not measured on the CSDD lane. The DPF remains functional and inspection is passed with a clean sheet.

Do I need to drain the remaining AdBlue fluid from the tank?

Draining fluid is not mandatory, but we recommend disconnecting the pump and metering injector connector to prevent urea crystallization inside the injector. Following software deactivation, the car will never ask for refills again.

Will the «No restart in 800 km» warning message disappear?

Yes. The software recalibration permanently clears and deactivates the emergency countdown timer inside the engine control unit. The lockout is canceled for good.

How long does the software deactivation take?

Typically, the entire process takes about 1–1.5 hours depending on the ECU generation (Bosch EDC17, MD1, Delphi or Siemens).
